As humans we are 99.9% genetically identical. Small variations within our genes (scientifically known as SNPs) determine the factors that differentiate us by only 0.1%. Knowledge surrounding different genes, and their involvement in the physiology of the skin, has led to a new dimension of skincare: Personalized Genomic Cosmetics. It is a novel discipline that interprets an individual's DNA in order to design an appropriate, tailor-made cosmetic treatment based their specific genetic profile.
